White North American (Fraxinus americana)
Origin: Appalachian, Central, Northern, Southern regions
Uses: Furniture, panelling, flooring, fixtures, shop fitting, doors, screens, mouldings and kitchens, tool handles
Comments: Used widely, by interior designers and shop fitters, in offices and shopping malls this timber satisfies the modern trend for lighter timbers. Also many hotels and pubs are using Ash stained as Oak for tables and furniture. A tough and elastic timber used where these properties are necessary.
