
The heartwood is yellowish-brown to reddish brown, and is generally resinous, which distinguishes the heartwood from the light coloured sapwood. Southern Yellow Pine is typically harder and heavier than the commercial species of pine and is almost identical in strength properties to Douglas Fir.
Uses : Staircases, bench seating, flooring, interior and exterior joinery, boat building, construction
Available in sawn thickness of 25mm, 32mm, 38mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm
The widths for this timber are usually either 250mm, or 300mm (with the exception of the 100mm thick stock.) as standard although random widths can also be supplied.
